Pretty Tacky Privacy Policy

This little diddy is about your privacy rights. File under #ImportantShit.

Your use of the site prettytacky.com is subject to the terms of this privacy policy.

The privacy of my visitors is a top priority. Where would I be without you, my precious?! Mustn’t hurt the precious.

This privacy policy specifies the information that I collect and record, and how I use it. If you have additional questions after reading this riveting piece of literature, or if you require more information about the privacy policy, do not hesitate to contact moi at caitlanhester@gmail.com

Consent

By using the website, you consent to the privacy policy and agree to its terms.

Information Collected

Cookies

Cookies help me deliver web content (silly essays and hillbilly musings) specific to your interests. Sensitive, personal information is NOT stored within cookies.

Cookies collect the following information from my site’s visitors:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address
  • Web pages requested
  • Referring web page
  • Browser
  • Date and time

PrettyTacky.com does not associate this data with individual user identities.

In other words, cookies help me see which pages readers are visiting so I can go, “Oh, cool, it looks like the public loves to read about meth heads and quitting shitty jobs. Guess I’ll keep going in that direction.” But I have no way to identify any of your actions as an individual. So, yes, please stalk my page! I will never know who you are you anonymous little creeper, you.

Use of Collected Information

The only personal information I will use will be from web forms. If you fill out a form on the site to contact me or sign up to receive the newsletter, then, yes, I will use your name and email address to contact you with said newsletter. I know you are like ‘duh, Caitlan, that is usually how that works.’ But cut me some slack, legally I have to let you know.

I will only use personal information collected from this site for the purpose of communication with visitors who have first contacted us through the site, for customer service purposes: updates, information relating to the website, the newsletter, and marketing/promotional purposes.

Pretty Tacky uses browser/IP address information and anonymous browser histories to understand and analyze how you use our website as well as to report information about site accesses and for profiling purposes. This information is then used to improve, personalize, and expand our web presentation and utilization.

IP address information may also be used for troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance purposes to support our website

I also collect information to help detect and prevent fraud.

Protection and Distribution of Collected Information

I am committed to protecting the privacy and accuracy of confidential information of my visitors. I don’t want your email address falling into somebody else’s grubby fingers just because of my own oversight.  That is why visitor information is protected with SSL.

I will not disclose personal information collected about you unless I am required by explicit laws that guarantee public access to certain types of information or in response to subpoenas or other legal instruments that authorize access.

That would be wild because that almost never happens. I can’t imagine the police knocking on my weird blog’s door because they need your email address. Just don’t admit to your wrongdoings in the comments sections of my blog. I know it’s a great place to vent because nobody is scrolling all the way down there. But just try to refrain, ok? Tell your priest and/or therapist like the other Sopranos.

Pretty Tacky will not sell your personal information to third-party organizations under any circumstances. Even if Elon Musk were holding my family hostage on a commercial rocket to the moon. Your name and email address are safe with me, lover.

I would, however, encourage you to visit my hosts’ BlueHost and WordPress’ privacy policy pages because I cannot vouch for them.

Responsibility for External Sites

This website contains links and embedded content to other websites. Like, maybe a silly penguin video on YouTube or some other bizarre internet black hole. Some of those websites are operated by third parties not affiliated with Pretty Tacky. I provide the links and embedded content for your convenience (ie entertainment) but I do not review, control, or monitor the privacy practices of third-party websites (Can you imagine? God, that sounds awful).

We are not responsible for websites operated by third parties, your business dealings with them, or their respective privacy policies. Therefore, whenever you leave PrettyTacky.com through a link or view embedded content, we recommend that you review each website’s privacy policies and make your own conclusions regarding their practices. You gotta take some responsibility, too, dude.

Intellectual Property

As a condition of the visitor’s use of the site, you agree that you will not use PrettyTacky.com for any unlawful purpose, such as plagiarism. Even if it doesn’t look like it. I work hard on these texts and they are muh babies. Come up with your own material. You can do it. I believe in you.

All content included, such as text, graphics, logos, and images, are the property of PrettyTacky.com or its partners. PrettyTacky.com’s content is protected by copyright/trademark and other laws that protect intellectual property and proprietary rights against plagiarism.
